Installation and Setup Guides - releases 🔼
Start point for most users, about installations, procedures and "how to's" manuals, ordered by usage skill level. Please remember, Devuan its a system which honors Debian history, focusing in Linux principles and GNU principles as possible..
1) Download and install guides 🔼
This is a good point to start, the first two guides assume modern computers, the thirt option if just for those that already have and previously Debian or any other OS installed and possible ways of use Devuan on their systems::
- A) Download and install using only a USB stick
- B) Download and install by burn or CD/DVD/BR
- C) Download and install when i already have a OS
- D) Upgrading when i already have a Debian
2) How to use default Devuan just installed 🔼
If you have or just installed, Devuan comes with a old-knowed behavior desktop, named Xfce, that's means a normal bar with window list and a menu pop up on left corner with basic installed software for general usage.
- Wheres its programs and files: Clicking here you will find what were installed, or equivalents of programs previously used in by example in cyber cafe or another OS.
- How to navigate the network or browse Internet: Of course Devuan can navigate through the vast network, use facebook and post in twitter...
- Listening music from my files: Can play audio, from any device supported until the day of the version installed was released, if any new or not supported consult the forums..
- Playing videos or movies : Manage videos, play movies or see it over internet, also can edit videos from devices or your USB sticks..
3) I want to become a veteran, medium users 🔼
In this level u will learn how to use a Debian similar system but without the systemd hand-shake, and behavior.. by example u want to learn programing and need install many resources:
- Become a LAMP developer: linux + apache + mysql + php
- Devuan ODBC basic and packages for access DBMS
- Become a high traffic web developer: linux + lighttpd + sybase + php + odbc
- Become a Visual developer with Gambas Visual Basic IDE
- Become a Linux advocate, knowing the system and how to understand
